Back to Work

Well... I've been back at work for a full week, and I made it, with just a couple tears. I'm super tired, but it hasn't been as bad as I thought it would. My students are really good, and I forgot how much I like my job:) I will say though, I race home to him everyday, when the bell rings, I can't get home quick enough! Being back at work will be a lot easier once I'm done breast feeding. Jakson is doing great with the change. He loves spending time with GG. He is growing so so fast... I'm trying to appreciate and soak up every little phase.

Jakson's First River Trip

Jakson had his first river trip this weekend:) He was a very good baby... he was totally off schedule and in the heat, but he kept it together... even for the four hour drive! The only thing he didn't like was the cold river water! Watch the video below to see his reaction... he wasn't pleased.

My Favorite Photo

I was so out of it the first couple days of Jakson's life that I didn't take any pictures of him... I was so sad about that... and then I realized that my good friend and talented photographer Tracy got some great pictures! It made me cry, I was so so happy. Thank you Tracy! I love you and appreciate you so very much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JAKSON HAS ARRIVED!

I went in the hospital Thursday morning August 6th...started pitocin at about 9:30 a.m. and had Jakson at 6:47 p.m. after an hour and 15 minutes of pushing. Giving birth was by far the hardest thing I have ever done in my life! He weighed exactly 8 lbs. and is exactly 20 inches long. I am feeling much better today (two days after) and am enjoying my little man. Jakson in completely healthy, except for some baby acne, which I'm told is normal and will go away.

Here he is just a little over an hour old

Kevin is the best Dad ever!!!!!

Our little man chill'in at home

Parker has only known Jakson for a few hours and already won't leave him alone!

When will Jakson join us?????

Okay... went to the doctor on Tuesday. I am 80% effaced and 1 cm dialated (still). If I don't naturally deliver beforehand, I will be induced on Thursday, August 6th. I am praying with all that I've got that he arrives this weekend!!!!!

Kev and I escaped to Palm Dessert for a few days with Bob and Tracy. What a great way to distract my mind from counting down the days until August 3rd! We all spent endless hours hanging out in the pool and relaxing:) When we got home Tracy posted some more prego pics from Crystal Cove. She did an amazing job. Thank you Trace. BTW... have I ever mentioned how much I love my husband?? I was "nesting" last night and he stayed up until 1 a.m. helping me clean, then gave me a tremendous back message this morning...LOVE HIM!

Well, Tracy held me accountable for taking maternity pics... I was about to pass on the idea, because I seem to hate all pictures of myself right now... but we did them...and I think she got some really good ones... good thing she can work her magic... I'm sure I will appreciate these one day!
Went to the drs a couple days ago and everything is perfect. Blood pressure, fluid level, baby position... all are exactly where they want them. I have an exam on Tuesday the 14th to see if I'm dialated at all or anything... I'm sure I'm not... with my luck I will carry this baby past my due date! I did find out though that the baby is laying flat against my spine, which is why I have been having so much back pain, he is way too comfortable in there!

Baby Showers!!

I could not have imagined having better baby showers! My Mom and Grandma threw me my "family" shower and Rachel and Tracy threw me my other shower. I had such a great time, and we got everything we need for Jakson. I seriously came home teary eyed, because I feel so blessed to have such loving and generous people in my life! Thank you everyone!!!!!

Meeting Sadie Kay

I got to meet Sadie Kay!

This weekend I went to Texas to visit with the Stahler family. Sadie is adorable and one of the best babies I have ever been around. The best part was seeing how Kay was with Sadie. Kay is such a good mom! This was a really good experience for me... it was like baby boot camp. I'm no longer worried about bringing Jakson home for the first time. Kay even gave me the 411 on the breast pump... I never would have known what to do with all those parts if it wasn't for her!

Pregnancy Update

Okay, so it has been a while... I'm going to really try to keep up with this thing! Anyhow... here is a pregnancy update . I am now 28 weeks pregnant, that means 12 to go:) I cannot wait to meet the little guy. I am still feeling really good, back pain has been my worst pregnancy side affect, and at this point I'm starting to feel a little restricted by my big ole belly.

The baby's name will be Jakson Robert. Kevin liked the name Jackson, and I wasn't completely sold on it until I realized I could spell it Jakson and it could stand for Julia's and Kevin's son. Slightly cheesey, but I like the meaning! The name Robert comes from my grandpa, he was one of the best men I ever knew!

Here is a recent belly pic
